Sewer drain cleaning in Nassau and Suffolk County
When a drain keeps backing up, the problem is usually the main line, not the sink. Long Island Sewer and Water Main has been clearing Long Island drains since 1983, and we work the same way every time: find the blockage, clear it, then tell you what caused it so you know whether it is coming back.
Family owned, based in Sayville, covering Nassau County, Suffolk County and the five boroughs. On call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Suffolk 631-407-2873, Nassau 516-604-2651.
Main drain line clogs and slow drains
One slow sink is usually that fixture. Two or more fixtures backing up at the same time, a toilet that bubbles when the washing machine drains, or water rising at the lowest drain in the building: that is the main line.
A slow drain and a blocked drain are two stages of the same problem. Water that takes a minute to go down, a gurgle after the washer runs, a ring of standing water in the shower: the line is narrowing, and it will close. Clearing it at the slow stage is a scheduled visit. Clearing it after it closes is an emergency, usually at night, usually with water on a floor.
If more than one fixture is slow, stop using all of them and call. The restriction sits below all of them, and every gallon you send down has nowhere to go but the lowest opening.
